Gene W. Lee, MD

Pain Management Specialist

Dr. Gene Lee is a pain management specialist at the Cedars-Sinai Pain Center. His medical training has taken him to various places in the US, including Maryland, Wisconsin, Texas, and California. He received excellent education along the way as well as exposure to various ways healthcare is administered and received through the country.

Dr. Lee completed his pre-med undergraduate work at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. The Charm City had many fascinating stories to tell—of its struggles, its joys—and they have stayed with him to this day.

He then went on to attend medical school at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. This was where his interest in anesthesiology and pain management was first piqued. This was, after all, where Dr. Ralph Waters had founded the nation's first academic anesthesiology department to train physicians.

From there, his journey through the US continued. Dr. Lee completed his residency training at the historic Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. He then received his fellowship training in pain medicine at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, a historically Jewish institution with fascinating stories of its own. It introduced him to quality that draws even the celebrities with the most discriminating taste. He was recruited to stay at Cedars-Sinai and has been an attending physician ever since.
